Research and Evaluation

We are trained in using and applying a range of quantitative and qualitative research methods. With these we support various aspects of educational organisations through exploration, review or evaluation.

Offering a range of research and evaluation services we can complete bespoke research projects, applying theoretical models of investigation to individual and unique situations.

Research can be used for evaluation, development, knowledge construction and exploration and requires sound knowledge and understanding of the application of psychological research methods. We use research in a variety of ways including:

  • Exploratory research to explore gaps in services and provision and inform development plans.
  • Support organisations to clarify the focus of their investigation and identify a research question/s.
  • Use existing data to identify vulnerable groups, community cohesion and plan development work
  • Develop an appropriate methodological approach in order to provide information required and data in a format that is meaningful and productive.

  • Develop evaluation measures and methods to review and monitor progress.
  • Evaluate existing projects or pilot interventions to provide outcome information
  • Considering longitudinal approaches to gathering data and reviewing and monitoring developments and trends over time.
  • Link research findings to school development plan and inspections framework.

  • Exploring the views of students, parents and staff.
  • Empowering key groups to engage in the research process using techniques such as group solution focused working and planning of alternative future working.
  • Reporting findings, contributing to school development work and school improvement programmes and planning.
  • Presentation of findings to school staff, governing bodies, management groups and key stakeholders.
